Presenter:

This month’s presenter is Nina Baliga, Co-Founder and CEO of <div>ersity, a startup creating a platform to connect a community of diverse tech talent with trusted, transparent companies. They are building a "Glassdoor for diversity," where diverse coders, engineers, and developers can share their experiences about the diversity and inclusion practices and environment of various companies. The platform helps companies learn from diverse communities how to create more inclusive and safe work environments to attract the best talent. Their goal is to create a community that helps companies find great talent outside of their traditional networks, and for diverse talent to find great companies to work for by building a platform based on trust, community and transparency.

Business Challenge:

<div>ersity is building a community of diverse tech talent across the country, but most of the companies they’ve been engaging with are local to Colorado.  They are currently focused on developing relationships with companies that not only care about diversity and inclusion, but are also actively incorporating business decisions into how they recruit and retain diverse talent.  Most of their relationships and current paying customers are in Colorado, but there is a clear need to expand their client base beyond Colorado for the company to scale accordingly. She is looking for advice on how to reach new markets on a bootstrapped budget, while maintaining company integrity that is mission focused on only connecting with companies that are creating inclusive environments for diverse engineers, coders, and developers.
