Letter from the President
Hi Cool Women –
I’m excited to be back as the leader of this awesome organization. It was 2007 when Margaret Burd and I had the idea to invite some of the coolest women we knew to Magpie for wine and sushi. Since then, we’ve changed our name from Coolest Women We Know in IT to the Coolest Women we Know in Technology. We’re so excited to see our members coming from a wide range of technology companies and want to reflect this fabulous new shift. We’re working to rebuild our community of women supporting women in the Denver metro area. It’s still amazingly isolating to be a leader in technology and business, but we’re so excited to offer an opportunity to our members to be a part of this amazing group of women.
We know that many of our membership travels and that cool women are busy women, but the monthly networking members are never the same without you there. They are on the 3rd Wednesday or Thursday of each month. Check out the calendar on the website and save the date for these monthly meetings.
Our current goal is to build the corporate membership of the organization. We only achieve this with your help. If you know a fabulously cool director or above woman working in a technology company, please invite her to be your guest at an upcoming meeting. If you can’t be there, just let me know and I’ll personally introduce her around at the meeting.
Profit Matters has continued to grow. We’re supporting some innovative women entrepreneurs at our monthly events. Thanks to Liz Coker who takes the lead in organizing these events. If you know of a female entrepreneur, please connect us so we can talk to her about being one of our upcoming Profit Matters speakers.
Thank you to each of you who continue to make CWWK such a memorable part of our Denver business community. So excited for the future!!!

She found early career success in the technical world at Bell Labs, but for Wendy, the opportunity to move to sales, with her outgoing personality, Southern charm, and gift of storytelling – was like coming home. With 30 years of proven results in engineering and corporate sales in the telecom and healthcare industries, Wendy now embraces her whole self, including her “sass” and versatility, to help women leap to their next level of greatness. She insists, and excels at demonstrating, that by working together we can increase the number of women executives and eliminate the gender wage gap. Wendy has a passion and gift for helping companies attract and retain great female talent.
